Dak Lak - Jeollabuk holds meeting to review 05 years of implementing cooperation agreement

An online conference between Dak Lak province and Jeollabuk-do (Korea) was held on December 23 to review the implementation of cooperation agreement in the period of 2017 – 2020 with the participation of Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Canh and representatives from relevant departments.

The report at the Conference showed that Dak Lak and Jeollabuk coordinated to deploy many activities in the fields of economics, culture - tourism and training-education, labor in the period of 2017 2020 since the signing of cooperation agreement. Specifically, the JVEC Korean Training Center project with a total investment of USD20,000 USD, invested by Jeonbuk – Vietnam Cooperation Exchange Promotion Council, has been put into operation since the beginning of 2019. The center has organized 12 classes for hundreds of civil servants and students in the province for free. Regarding trade promotion, Dak Lak held a meeting with businesses in Jeollabuk-do (October 2018) to introduce the province's potentials and strengths to call for investment. In addition, the province has supported 03 enterprises of Jeollabuk - do to participate in the Coffee Specialized Fair in the framework of the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019. Jeollabuk-do supported for 02 business delegations of Dak Lak participating in the Jeonju International Fermented Food Expo in Jeollabuk-do.

For humanitarian aid, Dak Lak has received aids from 03 organizations in Jeollabuk with a total value of about VND3.8 billion. On the occasion of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2017 and 2019, Jeollabuk province sent art troupe and a culinary delegation to participate in art exchanges.
Dak Lak provincial Ethnic Dance and Singing Troupe also performed at the Jeollabuk International Sound Festival in October 2018. In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province also welcomed Jeollabuk business delegations to survey tourism products and services in Dak Lak and initially establish the relationship between the Tourism Associations of the two provinces.
In terms of training-education and labor affairs, a group of typical students of Dak Lak province sent to Jeollabuk-do for learning and cultural exchange. Jeollabuk-do organized 03 exchanges with students of Dak Lak. Mechanical Associations of the two provinces also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish their relations.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of PPC Vo Van Canh said that over the past time, the cooperation between Dak Lak and Jeollabuk has achieved positive results. Thereby, it contributes to promoting the Vietnam-Korea cooperation relationship, as well as creating opportunities for economic development and cultural exchange between the two localities. Mr. Vo Van Canh emphasized that Dak Lak always welcomes and commits to creating the most favorable conditions for organizations and businesses to invest in Dak Lak.
Leaders of the two provinces agreed to promote their achievements, continue to promote exchanges and cooperation in economic area, education, labor ... on the basis of signed cooperation agreement. In the period of 2020 - 2022, it should be focused on promoting cooperative activities effectively such as training for officials working in mechanical engineering, agricultural sector; cultural exchange and information provision to support businesses to participate in events and exhibitions held by the two provinces. At the same time, the two provinces will expand cooperation in education; create conditions for students, workers in enterprises, vocational schools of Dak Lak to practice skills, learn production experience of Jeollabuk; support agricultural development projects in cooperation with Jeollabuk province deployed in Dak Lak; strengthen friendship and cultural exchanges between people of Dak Lak and Jeollabuk.
