Voters in Dak Lak Province excited to cast ballots for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

On the morning of May 23rd, in the jubilant atmosphere of a great festival of the people, the General Election Day, to vote for deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure, over 1.3 million voters in Dak Lak were eager to cast their ballots at voting stations to select the best deputies in the election worth representing the people’s will.

Attending the opening ceremony at the Cultural House in Akô Dhông Village, Tan Loi Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City were Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung, deputy-secretaries, and leaders of the People’s Committee of Buôn Ma Thuot City.
*At polling station No. 17 in Akô Dhông Village, approximately 1,000 voters cast their ballots to elect three representatives to the Delegation of NA Deputies, four deputies to the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Council, three deputies to the Buon Ma Thuot City People’s Council, and three deputies to Tan Loi Ward People’s Council.
In traditional costume, voters in Akô Dhông Village were very eager to leave for polling stations to exercise their civic right. Much attention was paid to COVID-19 prevention measures at polling stations. Before casting their ballots, all voters were instructed to have their temperature checked, wash hands with sanitizer, wear a facemask, and keep physical distance.

After the opening ceremony and explanation of the rules of the election, voters cast their ballots in polling boxes. As one of the oldest people in the village, Y Bhiông Niê was very excited to say that with the vote, the voter hoped to elect the best deputies to the NA and People’s Councils at all levels.
Having just cast a vote in the polling box, Mrs. Yă Líp was excited to share, “All five members of my family tried to get up early this morning, and got ready in our E de ethnic group traditional costumes, to be as early as possible to the polling station to exercise our civic right. We had no difficulty in casting ballots as the rules on how to vote had been instructed to us before. I hope successful candidates try their best and know how to listen to their people’s thoughts and feelings. Afterwards, they will propose effective plans to the central and provincial governments to untie difficulties and bring a better life to people.”
Voters strictly follow the Covid-19 pandemic prevention measures
Following Mrs. Yă Líp was Mr. Y Som Kbuôr’s family of 6. They asked each other which candidates they had eliminated with their vote. “We find that the election took place in a strict atmosphere. Before Election Day, election staff were friendly to give us careful instructions of the rules on how to vote. I would have been on the farm this morning but because of the election, I decided to reschedule my work there. Each member of my family was determined to go to the polling station to cast a vote. Not until the ballot is cast in the box will each member go home because this is a five-year occasion.” Y Sơm said.
Voters mulling over the list of candidates before casting their ballots
1,802 polling stations with more than 1.3 million voters cast ballots in Dak Lak Province. They will elect nine representatives to the Delegation of NA deputies from 15 candidates in three polling stations; 75 representatives to the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Council from 125 candidates in twenty polling stations; 153 representatives to the district People’s Council from 849 candidates; and 4,658 representatives to the commune People’s Council from 7,731 candidates.

As reported by the provincial election commission, decorating work had been brilliantly arranged to welcome Election Day. Strict attention was paid to security and COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures. Voters were instructed to go home after voting to avoid gathering in crowds.

As of 9 a.m., 433,171 out of 1,371,972 voters in the province had completed casting their ballots, accounting for 31.57%. Voting had been completed in certain polling areas in the province with the voter turnout rate reaching 100% (Cu Kuin District Election Commission). All facilities to support Election Day had been fully provided as required. At the polling stations, each ballot box had been checked carefully before the election started. The local electoral units had provided their careful preparations, particularly the propaganda which had been done thoroughly making it easy for every citizen to vote. Voting in the province took place in a serious and safe way conforming to the law.
All the voters in Dak Lak were excited to exercise their civic right in the election and hope all of those elected to the 15th parliament and at all-levels of People’s Councils in the 2021-2026 tenure would do their utmost to develop the country with innovation and success.
